Three-disc CLE (continuing legal education) seminar: Bankruptcy Basics 2005:
I got this delivered to my office...well, I don't exactly remember when, but it must have been about three years ago. I promptly brought it home to listen to, and then fill out the form to get credit with the State Bar. Well, what happened is that these discs got buried underneath a pile of really important junk mail, never to be seen or heard from (or listened to) until now. Yeah. I'm a loser. One of these days, I'll call the state bar to see if I can still get credit. I'll probably give them a call around 2011.
Giant stack of Shape and Fitness magazines (half the stack depicted; the other half is upstairs in my bedroom):
Yeah, it's really too bad that you have to actually do more than read the magazines (or just have a subscription to them) to get in shape. I'm not sure exactly why I'm saving these, but I couldn't bear to throw them away. Maybe I'm hoping that I can set the stack on my head and magically melt away 10 pounds.
One 3x5 picture frame from the Dominican Republic:
I got this when I went on vacation to the D.R. in 2004. However, I made a fatal flaw when calculating which frame to purchase. I didn't have a ruler and I THOUGHT this was a 4x6 frame...it's not...and I don't have any 3x5 pictures from either that trip or my trip back in 2005 to put in the frame! I suppose I could take a 4x6 picture and trim it down. I'll put that on my list of crafty items to do...right after Finish Scrapbooking Christmas 2006.
A Business Administration department textbook, circa 1990:
Check out that gem. I really like how it has a picture of San Francisco at night on the front. I have a completely irrational attachment to this textbook. It was used for my Intro to Business class at Central Washington University in Fall 1992. I got an A in the class, and I have carted this book around in each and every move that I've done in the last almost 16 years, even though it's so old it has absolutely no relevance to any business currently operating now, whatsoever. This book is so old it makes no mention of the World Wide Web, the Internet, or eCommerce. That's because in 1992, the World Wide Web had not yet been invented! Someday, I'll donate this book to the Smithsonian or something. Until then, it's staying smack in the middle of my bookshelf.
A set of the Washington Court Rules for 1998:

I seriously crack myself up, I really do. What possible use could I have for a set of the Washington State Court Rules from 1998? One, it's 10 years old. Two, I haven't lived in Washington for five years and I have no intention of ever moving back. Three, if I really cared what the court rules were in Washington (which I don't), I could always go to the Washington Supreme Court website and look at them. But, I used this book as a Rule 9 intern at my first real law school job and studied it before my first real court appearance. Look at how nicely I tabbed up the side with the EZ Reference tabs. That was back with my 24-year-old youthful zeal for the law. Now that I'm older, and jaded, I just fold the pages over. I could have thrown this out...but it stays.

Well, thanks for taking this trip down memory lane with me! Please vote in the poll! (To the right.)

I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one who gets senitmental over stuff. I'm trying to do better at getting rid of things, it actually feels really good. Way to get rid of 3 garbage bags full of stuff!
